Toid side table

Toid is a one-piece solid-bronze sand-cast side table. The lower portion is coated with liquid wax and then flame-treated to obtain an extremely rich and warm finish, while the top surface is polished to an almost mirror finish. This process, completely done by hand by foundry master artisans near Milano, reveals the two opposing material qualities of bronze: a dark and deep outer skin that turns into a warm shining golden surface when polished. The solarized stain that naturally develops in the middle of the round top during the manufacturing process is purposefully preserved as a precious signature detail for the piece.
