Renowned John Pawson aimed to achieve “absolute clarity” with the Frame Low coffee table, one of his meticulously crafted pieces for Finnish wood furniture brand Nikari. This piece is an extension of Pawson’s Frame series, which initially began with a dining and conference table designed for his family’s farmhouse, blending residential architecture with functional design.
The Frame Low coffee table, part of John Pawson’s Frame series for Nikari, is intended to be both warm and minimalistic. Its simple solid wood frames are designed to harmonize mass, volume, and proportion, a concept fundamental in modern architectural design. “The thinking that shapes the Frame series derives from a desire to achieve absolute clarity – of form, proportion, and construction language,” explained Pawson.
This architectural furniture piece features a bottom frame that can incorporate a full or half-size shelf, enhancing its versatility and functionality.
